Merry Halloween?
First of all, I didn’t mean to write a freakin’ novel with that review. I really just wrote it so I could bitch about the parts I didn’t like… haha.
That said… I have a rant. It’s a little late for it now but I will keep it short.
It was October 8th. I walked into the cafeteria at work and like any other day there was music playing in the background. But not just ANY music… oh, no… it was:
CHRISTMAS MUSIC.
I’ll spare you all the “Christmas has become overcommercialized and the original meaning has been lost” rant that everyone else usually gets into. I just want to know how and when it became acceptable for the “Christmas season” to start any time before Black Friday. In my book, it’s still not. I mean, October 8th people… we haven’t even had Halloween yet. Back up, it’s not even Columbus day yet! I firmly believe that we should celebrate one holiday at a time. Pumpkins before turkeys, turkeys before trees. The next thing you know, people will be hanging their stockings on Easter. (Hey, why not? Might as well get ready for the celebration of Jesus’s birth on the same day as the celebration of his resurrection.) Sigh… silly America.
(On a side note, I have not heard one note of Christmas music in that cafeteria since that 8th day of October. What the crap?!)
